Margaret Leuschner, MDS coordinator and registered nurse at Life Care Center of Bountiful, Utah, recently retired after 20 years of service at the facility.
On Aug. 23, 2017, the center held a retirement party for Leuschner. In addition to food and well wishes, associates presented a personal video message from Beecher Hunter, president of Life Care Centers of America.
“I was truly touched and honored,” said Leuschner. “Mr. Hunter gave a beautiful, heartwarming message. I always read Mr. Hunter’s inspirational message for the day and thoughts and prayers. It has been a blessing to work for a corporation that talks about God and how important it is to have God in our life. Thank you for the best retirement gift.”
Leuschner started at Life Care Center of Bountiful in 1998 when a friend recruited her from the local hospital. She won the July 2017 Whatever It Takes And Then Some Award at the facility for attending the memorial services of residents and associates who have passed away.
“I am truly blessed to have worked at Life Care Center of Bountiful for 20 years,” said Leuschner. “I thank God for opening the door to my nursing and social work profession. As a little girl, all I ever wished was to work in a nursing home. As a child, I volunteered with my mom at a nursing home run by the Little Sisters of the Poor. Every day I thank God for my blessings that my nursing career has given me.”
